INDUSTRY-BASED HIP HOP TRAINING ROOTED IN LONG-LASTING LIFE LESSONS
We both grew up with dance in our lives. Our developmental years were filled with rehearsals and performances. And when we got older and began to face the "real world", we realized just how much we learned from our long hours in the studio. In between learning choreography and practicing formations, we learned discipline, time management, and adaptability. We learned how to form an opinion and advocate for ourselves and for what we believe is right.

The thing is, we had to make all these connections between dance and life ourselves. With our curriculum we aim to help our dancers make these connections so they are prepared to enter the world as young adults. We know that not every dancer will go on to become a professional dancer. But that doesn't mean their time with us is wasted.

In fact, we make sure that every dance skill we teach is relatable to life. So that when our dancers go off to make their mark on the world, they are ready.

That's where our name comes from - just as reverberation is the persistence of sound, our comprehensive curriculum has long lasting effects on our dancers.
— Andre Morris & Emily Dilworth
Owners and Directors of Reverb Dance Collective
Our Teacher Training Program provides our dancers with the technical and emotional skills to become well-rounded, knowledgeable Hip Hop teachers.

Our REVolution Summer Training Program provides dancers the opportunity to train alongside our current company members and get an introduction to the level of training we provide.

These two programs build off of our core pillars of training:
KNOWLEDGE
MUSICALITY
EXECUTION
PERFORMANCE
REVERB DANCE COLLECTIVE
provides industry focused education to young dancers looking for a push.

Whether our dancers choose to pursue dance professionally, become a teacher, or simply begin the next chapter of their lives, our program provides them with a safe, challenging environment to cultivate the skills necessary to make their mark in the world.

Our dancers are driven, passionate, and eager to elevate their artistry

Emily Dilworth
Director of Operations
As the Director of Operations, I oversee the development of our Training and Apprenticeship Programs, Teacher Training Program, and our curriculum.
KNOWLEDGE
Dance is rooted in culture.
Our dancers are well-equipped with the history, vocabulary, and knowledge of the ever-evolving culture of Hip Hop and street dance. This includes styles such as Popping, Locking, House, Dancehall, Waacking, etc.
MUSICALITY
A strong dancer knows not just how to move, but how to listen. Our curriculum teaches dancers how to hear, interpret, and embody music to develop and execute a captivating performance.

EXECUTION
It is one thing to regurgitate choreography and another to execute movement artistically. Our curriculum encourages dancers to observe and analyze choreography to achieve control, precision, and style.

PERFORMANCE
Performance is an exchange of energy and the experience through which we share our passions as artists. Our dancers train to develop their own individual artistry and to deliver a performance that is not only entertaining, but engaging.

How can I join the team?We hold auditions each year in the spring for our Summer Training Program. Students who are admitted into the Summer Training Program will be given the chance to audition for a spot on the team at the culmination of the program in August. If you'd like to receive updates about our upcoming 2022 auditions, please fill out the form below.
-
What age do I need to be?We currently have two divisions of the company: Reverb Dance Collective Ages 14 - 18 This is the core division of the company comprised of our high-school-age dancers. Reverb Apprenticeship Program Ages 12 - 13 This is the introductory division of our company to begin training younger dancers who show exceptional drive and determination. These dancers move into the core division of the company when they become of age.
-
What performance opportunities are there? Our typical performance schedule consists of charitable showcases in the fall and industry-recognized competitions in the spring. We typically perform 5-7 times throughout the season, which runs from September to May. The rest of our time is devoted to our core curriculum and Teacher Training Program, as well as other creative projects.
-
Do you do any other creative projects throughout the year?Yes! Each year we professionally produce a concept video project. This gives dancers a taste of what working in a time-sensitive, highly professional environment is like. There are also opportunities for student choreography throughout the year.
-
What do you mean by "industry-based training"?"Our curriculum is based on the technical and professional skills needed to pursue a career in dance; whether that be as a dancer, choreographer, or teacher. In addition to our rigorous dance training, dancers learn professional skills that can apply to both dance and life. This includes audition etiquette, creative directing and choreography, self-advocacy and communication, adaptability, time management, and accountability.
-
Are you a studio/do you offer weekly classes?Reverb Dance Collective is not a dance studio. We offer industry-based training meant to compliment our dancers' weekly studio training. Although we don't offer weekly classes, we do hold workshops for dancers in and around our local community. If you'd like more information about our upcoming workshops and community events, please fill out the form below!

How do I take part in the REVolution Summer Training Program? There are two main ways you can join our REVolution Summer Training Program: Audition for our Resonance Show Open Call Piece - Each fall, we hold an "open call" audition for dancers to take part in our annual Resonance show. Dancers that make it through the audition will get to perform in an exclusive piece in our Resonance show AND receive an invitation to our REVolution Summer Training Program Audition at our Spring Audition - Every spring we hold auditions specifically for our REVolution Summer Training Program. If you missed a chance in the fall, nows your chance to join!!
-
What is the audition for?Our auditions operate slightly differently than typical programs. This audition is for a spot in our 8-week long REVolution Summer Training Program where potential company members (trainees) train alongside current company members. Building relationships, receiving company level training, participating in some of our summer projects and working towards our End of Summer Audition. Dancers MUST complete the REVolution Summer Training Program in order to participate in our End of Summer Audition.
-
Why have a Spring Audition AND and End Of Summer Audition? We find that a typical audition doesn’t allow us to fully assess a dancer's ability. We’re not looking for dancers who can pick up choreography and execute it perfectly right away. We’re looking for passionate hardworking dancers who are looking for a push and willing to continuously work towards growth. We, as directors, observe the trainees throughout the entirety of the program and base our decision to invite them onto the team from there. More information on the REVolution Summer Training Program will be sent to those who are accepted!!
-
Can younger dancers join?Yes! Our Apprentice Level is for dancers aged 11-13. This is our introductory level of the team for those younger dancers looking for a push. Our apprentices, though young, are MIGHTY. They train alongside our older company members and when they're ready, move up to the "company" level. The Company Level is open to dancers aged 14-17 at the beginning of our upcoming season (September 2024).
-
How frequently are training sessions held (and where)? Our two (2) hour training sessions are held once a week for 8 weeks on wednesday nights throughout the summer. Each year the exact dates change so please reach out to us to get the most up to date information! Every dancer that makes it through our auditions will receive detailed information on our program dates and requirements. Our training sessions will either be held at KMC Dance Jennersville, or KICKS Academy of Dance.
-
Is there a fee for the REVolution Summer Training program?Yes, our 8-week long training program (16 hours of pre-professional level training) costs only $240!
